Southern Mantis is an internal art that utilizes spring power generated from within. Power comes from the waist and shoulders stemming from a solid horse stance. Jook Lum Southern Mantis uses soft against hard ( Yam Yeung ). Circular and fluid motions uses an opponents power and attack to produce Yam Yeung Ging ( internal power ). Southern Mantis focuses on quick skills and reflexes; the art is fast and fluid, utilizing many techniques to attack from multiple directions.
